Blythswood Care

Blythswood Care combines the Christian message with practical help for those in need at home and abroad. Whether through filled shoeboxes at Christmas, relief and development aid or social projects for young and old, we bring hope to thousands in Europe, Africa and Asia.

We are a Christian Charity helping people in need locally and globally, regardless of political or religious beliefs or ethnic origins.

The Perth Support Group fund raise at a local level and focus on their main activity of help co-ordinate filled Christmas Shoe Boxes.

2011 Shoe-Box Appeal

2011 Shoe Box Appeal Launch Coffee Morning

The Support Group would like to thank Lord Provost John Hulbert for launching the 2011 Appeal at the October Coffee Morning which helped to raise over £675 for the Appeal.

We would like to thank all the people that supported last year’s appeal with 4,767 boxes custom checked and sent from Perth to help bring a smile to the faces and the love of Jesus to less privileged people in Romania at Christmas. We hope that the 2011 Appeal will be equally successful.

The Support Group would like to thank Tesco Extra Crieff Rd for the very generous donation of Christmas paper for wrapping shoe boxes and ASDA Dunkeld Rd for the donation of small toys that will be used as fillers items in the shoe boxes.

Pre-wrapped Shoe Boxes

Shoe Box Appeal Leaflets and wrapped shoe boxes (for a donation) are available from the church between the Sunday morning services during October, also Monday to Friday from the North Church Office (10am to Noon) and North Church Open Door Cafe (2 – 4pm) until Friday 4th November.

Filled Shoe Boxes

Due to the limited storage available in the church halls, please do not bring filled shoe boxes to the North Church before Sunday 16th October, with bulk deliveries from Monday 31st October to Thursday 3rd November (10am to noon) and Friday 4th November (10am to 4pm).

The last date for bringing filled Shoe Boxes to the Church ready for the Custom Checking on Saturday 5th November.

Custom Checking Day Saturday 5th November

We would invite everybody that would like to help with the Custom Checking (male/female) no matter age (5 to 95) to come along for as long as you can between 9am and approx 4pm on Saturday 5th November and enjoy the fellowship and fun while undertaking the rewarding task of the Custom Checking process. You may be checking the boxes, packing them into the cartons and loading them onto the Blythswood lorry. The longer you stay the more opportunity you will have to enjoy tea, coffee, juice with home baking to keep you nourished (donations of home baking always welcome).

Thank you for your support
